Xi Jinping Extends Spring Festival Greetings to Non-CPC Personages
Beijing, January 25 — Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended festive greetings on Monday to members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front ahead of the upcoming Spring Festival.
During the annual gathering held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Xi, who is also the Chinese President and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, conveyed his warm wishes as the nation prepares to celebrate the Spring Festival, which falls on January 29 this year.
In his address, Xi emphasized China's commitment to implementing more proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies. He highlighted the nation's focus on high-quality development and promoting greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology to ensure sustained social and economic progress in 2025.
Xi called on non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to align with central tasks and serve the country's overall interests. He urged them to leverage their unique strengths to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength for national development.
Underscoring the importance of achieving the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025), Xi stressed laying a solid foundation for the next five years. He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development and actively contribute to comprehensively deepening reform, promoting high-quality development, and formulating proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).
Addressing environmental concerns, Xi highlighted the need to tackle critical and challenging problems in the supervision of the Yangtze River ecosystem's protection. He emphasized the significance of safeguarding this vital ecological corridor.
Xi also encouraged the ACFIC to guide the private sector in maintaining enthusiasm for entrepreneurship and bolstering confidence in development. He called for the establishment and improvement of modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features to foster sustainable growth in the private economy.
