Chinese President Xi Jinping extended festive greetings to members of non-Communist Party of China (CPC) political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other united front members ahead of the upcoming Spring Festival.
During an annual gathering held on Monday at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Xi conveyed his warm wishes as the nation prepares to celebrate the Spring Festival, which falls on January 29 this year.
Emphasizing China's commitment to progress, Xi stated that the country will implement more proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies. \"We will focus on high-quality development and promote greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology to sustain sound social and economic development in 2025,\" he said.
Xi called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to align with central tasks and serve the nation's broader interests. He encouraged them to leverage their unique strengths to rally support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength for the country's advancement.
Highlighting the significance of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025), Xi underscored the importance of achieving its targets by 2025 and laying a solid foundation for the subsequent five years. \"We hope you will mobilize all positive forces to advance development and actively contribute to comprehensively deepening reform and promoting high-quality development,\" he remarked.
He also urged contributions toward formulating proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030), emphasizing the collaborative effort required for the nation's future planning.
Addressing environmental concerns, Xi stressed the need to tackle critical and challenging problems in supervising the protection of the Yangtze River ecosystem. \"Protecting our environment is essential for sustainable development,\" he noted.
Regarding the private sector, Xi highlighted the role of the ACFIC in guiding businesses. He called for efforts to \"maintain enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, bolster confidence in development, and establish and improve modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features.\"
The gathering served as a platform to reinforce unity and collaboration among various sectors and to inspire collective efforts toward China's developmental goals.
