Xi Jinping Extends Spring Festival Greetings to Non-CPC Members

Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended festive greetings on Monday to members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), and personages without party affiliation ahead of the Spring Festival.

During the annual gathering held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Xi, who is also Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, conveyed his best wishes for the Lunar New Year, which falls on January 29 this year.

Xi emphasized China's commitment to implementing more proactive and impactful macro policies, focusing on high-quality development, and promoting greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology to sustain sound social and economic development in 2025.

He called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to concentrate on central tasks, serve the country's overall interests, and leverage their unique strengths to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength.

Highlighting the importance of achieving the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025), Xi underscored the need to lay a solid foundation for the next five years.

He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development, actively contribute to comprehensively deepening reform, promote high-quality development, and formulate proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

Xi stressed the necessity of addressing critical and challenging problems in supervising the protection of the Yangtze River ecosystem.

He added that the ACFIC should guide the private sector in maintaining enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, bolstering confidence in development, and establishing and improving modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features.
