Xi Jinping Extends Spring Festival Greetings to Non-CPC Leaders

Chinese President Xi Jinping extended festive greetings to members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), and personages without party affiliation ahead of the Spring Festival.

During an annual gathering at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Monday, Xi, who is also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, conveyed his well-wishes for the upcoming Chinese Lunar New Year, which falls on January 29 this year.

In his address, Xi emphasized China's commitment to implementing more proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies. He highlighted the nation's focus on high-quality development and the promotion of greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology to sustain robust social and economic growth in 2025.

Xi called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to align with the country's central tasks and serve overall national interests. He urged them to leverage their unique strengths to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength for the nation's development.

Underscoring the importance of achieving the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025), Xi stressed the need to lay a solid foundation for the subsequent five years. He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development, actively contribute to comprehensively deepening reform, promote high-quality development, and formulate proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

Xi also highlighted the urgency of addressing critical and challenging problems in the protection of the Yangtze River ecosystem. He urged concerted efforts to enhance supervision and safeguard the river's environment.

Regarding the private sector, Xi called on the ACFIC to guide entrepreneurs in maintaining their enthusiasm for entrepreneurship and bolstering confidence in development. He encouraged the establishment and improvement of modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features.
