Chinese President Xi Jinping extended festive greetings to members of non-Communist parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other united front members ahead of the upcoming Spring Festival.

On Monday, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, President Xi, who is also the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, conveyed his warm wishes during an annual gathering with non-CPC personages. The Spring Festival, marking the Chinese Lunar New Year, falls on January 29 this year.

In his address, Xi emphasized China's commitment to implementing more proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies. He highlighted the nation's focus on high-quality development and the promotion of greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology. These efforts aim to sustain sound social and economic development in 2025.

President Xi called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to align with the central tasks of the country. He encouraged them to serve the nation's overall interests and leverage their unique strengths to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength.

Underscoring the importance of achieving the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025), Xi stressed the need to lay a solid foundation for the next five years. He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development, contribute to comprehensively deepening reform, promote high-quality development, and formulate proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

Addressing environmental concerns, Xi highlighted the need to tackle critical and challenging problems in the supervision of the Yangtze River ecosystem's protection. He urged concerted efforts to safeguard the environment for sustainable development.

President Xi also underscored the role of the ACFIC in guiding the private sector. He called on the federation to help maintain enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, bolster confidence in development, and establish modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features.

The gathering reflected Xi's commitment to fostering unity and collaboration across all sectors of society. By engaging with non-CPC groups, the president aims to harness collective wisdom and strength to achieve China's development goals and build a prosperous future.
