Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended festive greetings to non-CPC personages ahead of the Spring Festival during an annual gathering at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Monday.
Addressing representatives from non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), and personages without party affiliation, Xi emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in achieving China’s development goals for 2025. The Spring Festival, also known as the Chinese Lunar New Year, falls on January 29 this year.
Xi, who is also the Chinese President and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, highlighted China’s commitment to implementing proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies. He underscored the focus on high-quality development and promoting self-reliance and strength in science and technology to maintain robust social and economic momentum.
“We must work together to accomplish the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) and lay a solid foundation for the next five years,” Xi told the gathering. He called on non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to leverage their strengths, rally support, build consensus, and pool wisdom to serve the country’s overall interests.
The meeting is part of an annual tradition where China’s top leadership engages with non-CPC groups to foster unity and collaborative efforts toward national development. Xi’s call for cooperation reflects the government’s emphasis on inclusive participation in achieving strategic objectives.
