Xi Jinping Extends Spring Festival Greetings, Emphasizes Unity and Development

In a spirit of unity and collaboration, Chinese President Xi Jinping, who is also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, extended festive greetings to members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front ahead of the Spring Festival.

The annual gathering took place on Monday at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The Spring Festival, or Chinese Lunar New Year, falls on January 29 this year, marking a time of renewal and hope across the nation.

Addressing the assembly, Xi Jinping emphasized China's commitment to implementing more proactive and impactful macro policies. He highlighted the nation's focus on high-quality development and the promotion of greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology. These efforts aim to sustain sound social and economic development in 2025, aligning with the goals set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025).

Xi called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to concentrate on central tasks and serve the country's overall interests. He urged them to leverage their unique strengths to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength.

\"We must achieve the targets set for 2025 and lay a solid foundation for the next five years,\" Xi underscored, alluding to the forthcoming 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030). He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development, contribute to comprehensively deepening reform, promote high-quality development, and formulate proposals for the next stage of China's growth.

Highlighting environmental concerns, Xi stressed the need to address critical and challenging problems in the supervision of the Yangtze River ecosystem's protection. He pointed out that safeguarding the environment is integral to sustainable development.

Regarding the private sector, Xi noted that the ACFIC should guide private enterprises in maintaining enthusiasm for entrepreneurship and bolstering confidence in development. He encouraged the establishment and improvement of modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features, fostering innovation and growth within the private economy.

The gathering reflects China's emphasis on unity and collaboration among all political parties and sectors of society. As the nation prepares to celebrate the Spring Festival, Xi's message resonates with themes of solidarity, progress, and shared responsibility in shaping China's future.
