Xi Jinping Extends Spring Festival Greetings, Calls for Unity and High-Quality Development

Chinese President Xi Jinping, who is also the general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, extended festive greetings on Monday to members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front ahead of the Spring Festival.

During the annual gathering at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Xi conveyed his well-wishes for the upcoming Lunar New Year, which falls on January 29 this year. He emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration among all political parties and organizations to achieve China's development goals.

Focus on High-Quality Development

Xi highlighted China's commitment to implementing proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies. He stressed the need to focus on high-quality development and promote greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology. These efforts aim to sustain sound social and economic development in 2025 and beyond.

\"We must strive to achieve the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan and lay a solid foundation for the next five years,\" Xi stated, underscoring the significance of meeting the nation's medium-term objectives.

Leveraging Unique Strengths for National Progress

Calling on non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation, Xi urged them to concentrate on central tasks and serve the country's overall interests. He encouraged these groups to leverage their unique strengths to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength for national development.

\"It's essential to mobilize all positive forces to advance development,\" Xi said. He expressed hope that these groups would actively contribute to deepening reform, promoting high-quality development, and formulating proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

Environmental Protection and Private Sector Confidence

Addressing environmental concerns, Xi stressed the need to tackle critical and challenging problems in supervising the protection of the Yangtze River ecosystem. He indicated that safeguarding the environment is integral to sustainable development.

Regarding the private sector, Xi called on the ACFIC to guide businesses in maintaining enthusiasm for entrepreneurship. He emphasized the importance of bolstering confidence in development and establishing modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features.

\"By reinforcing our commitment to innovation and reform, we can ensure a prosperous future for all,\" Xi concluded.
