Xi Jinping Extends Spring Festival Greetings, Calls for Unity and Development

In a festive gathering at Beijing's Great Hall of the People, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended warm Spring Festival greetings to members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), and personages without party affiliation. The event, held on Monday ahead of the Spring Festival—falling on January 29 this year—highlighted unity and shared aspirations for China's future development.

Xi, who is also the Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, emphasized the importance of collective efforts in achieving the nation's goals. He called for implementing more proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies, focusing on high-quality development, and enhancing self-reliance and strength in science and technology to sustain robust social and economic growth in 2025.

\"We must harness the unique strengths of all sectors to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength,\" Xi stated. He urged non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and individuals without party affiliation to align with central tasks and serve the country's overall interests.

Highlighting the significance of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025), Xi underscored the need to meet its targets by 2025 and lay a solid foundation for the following five years. He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would actively contribute to advancing development, deepening reform, promoting high-quality growth, and formulating proposals for the upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

Addressing environmental concerns, Xi stressed the importance of tackling critical challenges in protecting the Yangtze River ecosystem. He called for strengthened supervision and coordinated efforts to ensure the river's sustainable development.

Regarding the private sector, Xi encouraged the ACFIC to guide entrepreneurs in maintaining enthusiasm for entrepreneurship and bolstering confidence in development. He advocated for establishing and improving modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features to enhance the vitality and competitiveness of private enterprises.

The gathering concluded with shared commitments to unity and collaborative efforts toward China's rejuvenation. As the nation prepares to celebrate the Spring Festival, Xi's messages resonate with a call for solidarity and collective progress in the new year.
