Xi Jinping Extends Spring Festival Greetings, Calls for Unity and Development

BEIJING – As the Spring Festival approaches, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended festive greetings to members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other united front members. The annual gathering was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, symbolizing unity and collaboration ahead of the Lunar New Year, which falls on January 29 this year.

During the event, Xi emphasized the importance of unity and collective effort to achieve China's development goals. He highlighted that China will implement more proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies, focusing on high-quality development and enhancing self-reliance in science and technology to ensure sustained social and economic progress in 2025.

In his address, Xi called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to align with central tasks, serve the nation's overall interests, and leverage their unique strengths. He urged them to rally broader support, build consensus, and contribute wisdom and strength to the country's development.

Xi underscored the significance of achieving the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025) and laying a robust foundation for the next five years. He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development, actively contribute to comprehensively deepening reform, promoting high-quality development, and formulating proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

Addressing environmental concerns, Xi stressed the need to tackle critical challenges in the protection and supervision of the Yangtze River ecosystem. He highlighted the role of the ACFIC in guiding the private sector to maintain entrepreneurial enthusiasm, bolster confidence in development, and establish modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features.

Xi's engagement with non-CPC entities ahead of the Spring Festival underscores the emphasis on inclusive governance and the mobilization of diverse societal forces to achieve national objectives. The meeting reflects a strategic approach to harness collective efforts for China's continued growth and development in the coming years.
