Amid the festive atmosphere leading up to the Spring Festival, Chinese President Xi Jinping extended heartfelt greetings to non-Communist Party of China (CPC) personages during an annual gathering at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Monday.
Addressing members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front, Xi highlighted the significance of unity and collaboration in achieving China's development goals.
\"We will implement more proactive and impactful macro policies, focus on high-quality development, and promote greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology,\" Xi emphasized. He underlined the importance of sustaining sound social and economic development in 2025, aligning with the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025).
Xi called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to \"focus on central tasks, serve the country's overall interests, and leverage their unique strengths.\" By rallying broader support and building consensus, he believes that a collective effort can pool wisdom and strength for the nation's progress.
Looking ahead, Xi underscored the need to lay a solid foundation for the next five years. He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development, actively contribute to comprehensively deepening reform, promote high-quality development, and formulate insightful proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).
Environmental protection also featured prominently in his address. Xi stressed the necessity of addressing critical and challenging problems in supervising the protection of the Yangtze River ecosystem, emphasizing the ecological significance of China's longest river.
In his remarks to the ACFIC, Xi encouraged the federation to guide the private sector in \"maintaining enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, bolstering confidence in development, and establishing and improving modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features.\"
The Spring Festival, marking the beginning of the Lunar New Year, falls on January 29 this year. As the nation prepares to celebrate, Xi's message serves as a call for unity and concerted effort across all sectors of society to achieve shared aspirations and navigate the path towards high-quality development.
