Xi Jinping Extends Spring Festival Greetings, Calls for United Efforts in 2025

In a gesture of unity and forward momentum, President Xi Jinping extended festive greetings to non-Communist Party of China (CPC) personages ahead of the upcoming Spring Festival. The annual gathering took place on Monday at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, bringing together members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other united front members.

Xi Jinping, who is also the general secretary of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, emphasized the significance of collaboration in achieving China's development goals for 2025. He highlighted the importance of implementing proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies, focusing on high-quality development, and enhancing self-reliance and strength in science and technology to sustain healthy social and economic progress.

The President called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to align their efforts with central tasks and serve the country's overarching interests. He urged them to leverage their unique strengths to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength for the nation's advancement.

Xi underscored the goal of fulfilling the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025) and laying a robust foundation for the subsequent five years. He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to drive development, actively contribute to deepening reforms, promote high-quality growth, and participate in formulating proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

Addressing environmental concerns, Xi stressed the need to tackle critical and challenging issues in the supervision of the Yangtze River ecosystem's protection. He highlighted the importance of ecological conservation as a pillar for sustainable development.

In his remarks about the private sector, Xi called on the ACFIC to guide entrepreneurs in maintaining their enthusiasm and confidence. He encouraged the establishment and improvement of modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features, reinforcing the private sector's role in the nation's economic landscape.

The gathering concluded with a shared commitment to unity and collaboration, setting a hopeful tone for the Lunar New Year, which falls on January 29 this year. As China embarks on a pivotal year, the emphasis on collective effort and high-quality development resonates strongly across all sectors of society.
