Chinese President Xi Jinping extended festive greetings to members of non-Communist Party of China (CPC) political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other united front members ahead of the upcoming Spring Festival.

During an annual gathering at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Xi, who is also the general secretary of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, conveyed his well-wishes for the Lunar New Year, which falls on January 29 this year.

In his address, Xi emphasized China's commitment to implementing more proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies in 2025. He highlighted the nation's focus on high-quality development and the promotion of greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology to sustain sound social and economic progress.

Calling on non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation, Xi urged them to concentrate on central tasks, serve the country's overall interests, and leverage their unique strengths. \"We must rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength,\" he said.

Xi underscored the importance of achieving the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025) by 2025 and laying a solid foundation for the next five years. He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development, contribute to deepening reforms, promote high-quality development, and formulate proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

Addressing environmental concerns, Xi stressed the need to tackle critical and challenging problems in supervising the protection of the Yangtze River ecosystem.

He also called on the ACFIC to guide the private sector in maintaining enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, bolstering confidence in development, and establishing and improving modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features.
