Xi Jinping Extends Lunar New Year Greetings to Non-CPC Personages, Emphasizes 2025 Goals

In a gesture of unity and forward momentum, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended festive greetings to non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front ahead of the upcoming Spring Festival.

On Monday, Xi, who is also the Chinese President and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, participated in the annual gathering with non-CPC personages at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The Spring Festival, also known as the Chinese Lunar New Year, falls on January 29 this year, marking a significant time for reflection and setting intentions for the year ahead.

During the event, Xi emphasized China’s commitment to implementing more proactive and impactful macro policies. He highlighted the nation’s focus on high-quality development and the promotion of greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology. These efforts aim to maintain a robust momentum for social and economic development in 2025.

Xi called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to concentrate on central tasks, serve the country’s overall interests, and leverage their unique strengths. He urged them to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength to achieve shared goals.

He stressed the importance of making concerted efforts in 2025 to successfully accomplish the targets set forth in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) and to lay a solid foundation for the next five years.

Xi’s address underscores the significance of unity and collaboration across all sectors of society in achieving China’s developmental milestones. As the nation prepares to celebrate the Lunar New Year, his message resonates with themes of shared responsibility and collective progress.
