Xi Jinping Extends Lunar New Year Greetings to Non-CPC Groups
In a spirited gathering at Beijing's Great Hall of the People on Monday, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended warm Spring Festival greetings to members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front.
The Spring Festival, marking the Chinese Lunar New Year, falls on January 29 this year. Xi, who is also the Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in his address ahead of the festive season.
\"China will implement more proactive and impactful macro policies, focusing on high-quality development,\" Xi stated. He underscored the nation's commitment to promoting greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology to sustain robust social and economic progress in 2025.
Calling upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation, Xi urged them to align with central tasks and serve the country's overarching interests. \"Leverage your unique strengths to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength,\" he encouraged.
Highlighting the significance of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025), Xi stressed the need to meet its targets by 2025 and lay a solid foundation for the subsequent five years. He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development, contribute to comprehensive reforms, promote high-quality growth, and participate actively in formulating proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).
Xi also addressed environmental concerns, emphasizing the urgency of tackling critical challenges in supervising the protection of the Yangtze River ecosystem. \"We must address these pressing issues to ensure sustainable development,\" he declared.
Regarding the private sector, Xi highlighted the role of the ACFIC in guiding businesses. \"The ACFIC should help the private sector maintain enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, bolster confidence in development, and establish modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features,\" he said.
The event concluded with a shared optimism for the future, as attendees pledged to contribute their efforts toward the nation's goals. As China approaches the Lunar New Year, the spirit of unity and collective progress resonated strongly among the diverse groups present.
