Xi Jinping Extends Festive Greetings to Non-CPC Personages Ahead of Spring Festival

As the Chinese Lunar New Year approaches, President Xi Jinping extended warm festive greetings to members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front. The annual gathering was held on Monday at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, marking a moment of unity and shared purpose ahead of the Spring Festival, which falls on January 29 this year.

In his address, Xi Jinping, who is also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, emphasized the importance of collaboration and collective effort in achieving national goals. He called upon non-CPC political parties and personages to focus on China’s central tasks, serve the country's overall interests, and leverage their unique strengths to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength.

Highlighting the nation's economic agenda for 2025, Xi stressed that China will implement more proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies. The focus will be on high-quality development and promoting greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology. These efforts aim to sustain sound social and economic development, ensuring that the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025) are met and laying a solid foundation for the next five years.

Xi Jinping expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development. He encouraged active contributions to comprehensively deepening reform, promoting high-quality development, and formulating proposals for the upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

Addressing environmental concerns, Xi underscored the need to tackle critical and challenging problems in supervising the protection of the Yangtze River ecosystem. He called for concerted efforts to preserve this vital natural resource for future generations.

Regarding the private sector, Xi highlighted the role of the ACFIC in guiding businesses to maintain enthusiasm for entrepreneurship and bolster confidence in development. He urged the establishment and improvement of modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features, reinforcing the importance of innovation and modernization in the business landscape.

The gathering reflected a unified vision for China's future, emphasizing collaboration across different sectors and political affiliations. As the nation prepares to celebrate the Spring Festival, this message of unity and shared purpose resonates with people across China and the global community connected to its ongoing development.
