On Monday, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended festive greetings to members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front ahead of the Spring Festival.

Xi, who is also the Chinese President and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, conveyed his well-wishes during an annual gathering at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The Spring Festival, marking the Chinese Lunar New Year, falls on January 29 this year.

During the event, Xi emphasized the importance of implementing more proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies. He highlighted China's commitment to high-quality development and the promotion of greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology to sustain sound social and economic progress in 2025.

Xi called on non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to focus on central tasks, serve the country's overall interests, and leverage their unique strengths. He urged them to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength to contribute to the nation's development.

Underscoring the significance of achieving the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025), Xi stressed the need to lay a solid foundation for the subsequent five years. He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development and actively participate in formulating proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

Xi also highlighted the necessity of addressing critical and challenging problems in the supervision of the Yangtze River ecosystem's protection. He emphasized the importance of environmental stewardship in achieving sustainable development goals.

Furthermore, he called on the ACFIC to guide the private sector in maintaining enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, bolstering confidence in development, and establishing and improving modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features.

Xi's address reflects a concerted effort to unite various segments of society in pursuit of China's development objectives. By emphasizing collaboration, innovation, and long-term planning, he seeks to galvanize collective action towards a prosperous future.
