In an atmosphere of festivity and unity, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended warm Spring Festival greetings to members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front.
On Monday, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Xi, who is also the Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, conveyed his heartfelt wishes during an annual gathering. The Spring Festival, also known as the Chinese Lunar New Year, is set to fall on January 29 this year.
During the event, Xi emphasized China’s commitment to implementing more proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies. He highlighted the focus on high-quality development and promoting greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology to sustain sound social and economic progress in 2025.
He called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to concentrate on central tasks, serve the country’s overall interests, and leverage their unique strengths. Xi urged them to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength to contribute to the nation’s development.
Xi underscored the importance of achieving the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025) and laying a solid foundation for the next five years. He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development and actively contribute to comprehensively deepening reform, promoting high-quality development, and formulating proposals for the upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).
Addressing environmental concerns, Xi stressed the need to tackle critical and challenging problems in supervising the protection of the Yangtze River ecosystem. He highlighted the significance of ecological preservation in China’s development agenda.
Xi also called on the ACFIC to guide the private sector in maintaining enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, bolstering confidence in development, and establishing and improving modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features.
As China welcomes the Spring Festival, the nation’s leadership is emphasizing unity, collaboration, and collective effort to achieve its ambitious goals. The engagement with non-CPC personages reflects a broad commitment to inclusivity and shared progress for the country’s future.
