Xi Jinping Calls for Unity in Spring Festival Greetings to Non-CPC Groups

In a gesture aimed at fostering unity and collaboration, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended festive greetings to members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), and personages without party affiliation ahead of the upcoming Spring Festival. The annual gathering took place on Monday at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, marking a significant moment of solidarity as the nation prepares to welcome the Lunar New Year on January 29.

Addressing the assembly, Xi, who is also the Chinese President and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, emphasized the importance of proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies in steering China toward sustained social and economic development in 2025. He underlined the necessity of focusing on high-quality development and enhancing self-reliance in science and technology to drive the nation's progress.

Xi called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to align with the central tasks and serve the country's overarching interests. He encouraged them to leverage their unique strengths to rally broader support, build consensus, and contribute wisdom and strength to the nation's endeavors.

The significance of achieving the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025) was a focal point of Xi's speech. He highlighted the need to lay a solid foundation for the subsequent five years, urging collaborative efforts to meet these critical objectives. Looking ahead, Xi expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development, deepen reforms, promote high-quality growth, and actively participate in formulating proposals for the forthcoming 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

Environmental stewardship also featured in Xi's address, as he stressed the importance of tackling critical challenges in the supervision and protection of the Yangtze River ecosystem. He pointed out that safeguarding the environment is integral to sustainable development and requires concerted efforts from all sectors.

Turning his attention to the private sector, Xi urged the ACFIC to guide entrepreneurs in maintaining their enthusiasm and bolstering confidence in development. He emphasized the importance of establishing and improving modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features, which would contribute to the nation's economic vitality and innovation capabilities.

The gathering underscored the CPC's commitment to inclusive governance and the mobilization of all social forces in China's development journey. As the country prepares to usher in the Spring Festival, Xi's call for unity and collective effort resonates with the festive spirit of renewal and progress.
