The Spring Festival, also known as the Chinese Lunar New Year, falls on January 29 this year. The annual celebration is a time for renewal and unity, and Xi's address emphasized the importance of collaboration and shared purpose in steering China's future amid global challenges.

During the event, Xi, who is also the Chinese President and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, highlighted China's commitment to implementing proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies. He stressed the nation's focus on high-quality development and the promotion of greater self-reliance in science and technology to ensure sustained social and economic progress in 2025.

Xi called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to align with central tasks and serve the country's overarching interests. He urged them to leverage their unique strengths to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength, fostering an environment conducive to achieving national goals.

Underscoring the importance of meeting the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025), Xi emphasized laying a solid foundation for the subsequent five years. He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development, contribute actively to deepening reform, promote high-quality development, and participate in formulating proposals for the upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

Xi also stressed the need to tackle critical and challenging problems in supervising the protection of the Yangtze River ecosystem. Emphasizing environmental conservation, he highlighted this as a crucial aspect of China's sustainable development agenda.

Addressing the ACFIC, Xi encouraged the federation to guide the private sector in maintaining enthusiasm for entrepreneurship and bolstering confidence in development. He advocated for the establishment and improvement of modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features, aiming to foster a business environment that supports innovation and growth.

The gathering reflects the Chinese leadership's emphasis on unity across political affiliations and sectors, underscoring a collective effort towards the nation's goals. As China approaches the Lunar New Year, Xi's messages resonate with themes of collaboration, innovation, and shared prosperity, setting a hopeful tone for the year ahead.
