Xi Jinping Calls for Unity and Development in Spring Festival Greeting to Non-CPC Groups

Beijing, January 27, 2025—Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended festive greetings on Monday to members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), and personages without party affiliation ahead of the upcoming Spring Festival.

During the annual gathering held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Xi, who is also the Chinese President and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, conveyed his warm wishes to the united front members as China prepares to welcome the Lunar New Year on January 29.

In his address, Xi emphasized China’s commitment to implementing proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies. He underscored the necessity of focusing on high-quality development and enhancing the nation’s self-reliance and strength in science and technology to ensure sustained economic and social progress in 2025.

“We must rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength,” Xi urged, calling on non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to focus on central tasks and serve the country’s overall interests.

Xi highlighted the importance of achieving the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025) and laying a solid foundation for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030). He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development, contribute to deepening reforms, promote high-quality growth, and formulate forward-looking proposals for the next five-year plan.

Addressing environmental concerns, Xi stressed the need to tackle critical and challenging problems in supervising the protection of the Yangtze River ecosystem. He called for intensified efforts to safeguard the ecological well-being of the region, which is pivotal to China’s sustainable development.

Speaking about the private sector, Xi noted that the ACFIC should guide private enterprises in maintaining enthusiasm for entrepreneurship and bolstering confidence in development. He encouraged the establishment and improvement of modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features, fostering a robust and dynamic market environment.

The gathering reflects the CPC’s emphasis on unity and collaboration with non-CPC groups to achieve common goals and further China’s development aspirations. As the nation approaches the Spring Festival, these messages of solidarity and shared purpose resonate across all sectors of society.
