In a message exchanged on Saturday with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong, Xi highlighted the importance of building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future that holds strategic significance.

Marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and Vietnam, Xi noted that the two socialist neighbors have stood side by side throughout history, supporting each other in the struggle for national independence and liberation. He emphasized that the profound friendship between China and Vietnam is vividly portrayed by the sentiment that \"we are both comrades and brothers.\"

Xi underscored that both countries share the same ideals and are committed to advancing socialism. He acknowledged that by learning from each other and moving forward hand in hand, China and Vietnam have deepened their comprehensive strategic cooperation. This shared pursuit of a common future is the most striking feature of the relations between the two parties and countries.

Reflecting on his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, Xi reaffirmed the pledge made by both sides to work towards a China-Vietnam community with a shared future. He stated that this commitment has elevated the relationship between the two parties and countries to a new stage.

As the world undergoes unprecedented changes, Xi emphasized that China and Vietnam's continued dedication to the path of socialism is crucial not only for their own futures but also for the global socialist cause. He highlighted the significant role this cooperation plays in promoting peace, stability, development, and prosperity in the region and the world at large.

Xi expressed his willingness to collaborate with Vietnamese leaders to seize the opportunity presented by the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges. He called for keeping in mind the original mission and forging ahead on the journey toward socialist modernization, aiming to deliver greater benefits to the peoples of both nations and contribute to human development and progress.
