On Saturday, Xi, who is also the general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, exchanged congratulations with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations.

\"China and Vietnam, as friendly socialist neighbors, represent a community with a shared future that holds strategic importance,\" Xi stated. He highlighted the longstanding friendship, noting that \"so profound is the friendship between Vietnam and China, because we are both comrades and brothers,\" which vividly portrays the relations between the two parties and countries.

Xi recalled his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, during which both sides pledged to work towards a China-Vietnam community with a shared future, elevating bilateral relations to a new stage. He stressed that amidst unprecedented global changes, the continued commitment of China and Vietnam to the path of socialism bears significance not only for the future of both countries but also for the global socialist cause, contributing to regional and global peace, stability, development, and prosperity.

Expressing his dedication to the growth of bilateral relations, Xi stated his willingness to collaborate with Vietnamese leaders to seize the opportunity presented by the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges. He urged both nations to remember their original mission and advance on the journey toward socialist modernization, delivering greater benefits to their peoples and making significant contributions to the revitalization of the global socialist cause and human progress.
