On Saturday, Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed his commitment to working closely with Vietnamese leaders to deepen strategic mutual trust and strengthen practical cooperation between the two nations. In celebration of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties, Xi emphasized the importance of building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future that carries strategic significance.

Xi, who is also the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, exchanged congratulations with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong. He highlighted the profound friendship between China and Vietnam, noting that as friendly socialist neighbors, both countries represent a community with a shared future.

\"So profound is the friendship between Vietnam and China because we are both comrades and brothers,\" Xi said, reflecting on the strong ties that have been forged over the past 75 years. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the two sides have supported each other in their struggles for national independence and liberation.

Xi underscored the importance of advancing socialism together, stating that China and Vietnam have learned from each other and moved forward hand in hand. This collaboration has deepened their comprehensive strategic cooperation, with both nations sharing the same ideals and pursuing a shared future.

Recalling his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, Xi mentioned that both countries pledged to elevate their relations to a new stage by working towards a China-Vietnam community with a shared future that carries strategic significance.

Amidst unprecedented changes unfolding globally, Xi stressed that the continued adherence to the path of socialism by China and Vietnam has a significant bearing on the future of both parties and countries, as well as the global socialist cause. He noted that this commitment is crucial for the peace, stability, development, and prosperity of the region and the world at large.

Xi expressed his dedication to enhancing bilateral relations and is willing to seize the opportunity presented by the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges. He called for both nations to keep their original mission in mind and forge ahead on the journey toward socialist modernization, aiming to deliver more benefits to their peoples and contribute to the revitalization of the global socialist cause and human development.
