Chinese President Xi Jinping has expressed his commitment to strengthening strategic mutual trust and practical cooperation with Vietnam, aiming to build a China-Vietnam community with a shared future of strategic significance.
On Saturday, President Xi exchanged congratulations with Vietnamese leaders, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam and President Luong Cuong, to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations.
\"China and Vietnam, two friendly socialist neighbors, represent a community with a shared future that carries strategic significance,\" Xi stated. He emphasized the profound friendship forged over 75 years, noting that both countries have \"fought side by side and supported each other in their struggle for national independence and liberation.\"
Xi recalled his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, during which both sides pledged to work towards a China-Vietnam community with a shared future. This commitment has elevated the relations between the two parties and countries to a new stage.
As global changes unfold in unprecedented ways, Xi highlighted the importance of China and Vietnam continuing to follow the path of socialism. He stated that this path \"has a bearing on the future of the two parties and countries as well as the future of the global socialist cause,\" contributing significantly to regional and global peace, stability, development, and prosperity.
\"I attach great importance to the growth of bilateral relations and am willing to work with Vietnamese leaders,\" Xi said. He called for both nations to \"keep in mind the original mission and forge ahead on the new journey toward socialist modernization,\" delivering greater benefits to their peoples and contributing to human development and progress.
