Beijing — Chinese President Xi Jinping has expressed his readiness to work closely with Vietnamese leaders to deepen strategic mutual trust and enhance practical cooperation between China and Vietnam. Marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties, Xi emphasized the importance of building a community with a shared future that carries strategic significance for both nations.
In messages exchanged with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong, Xi, who is also the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, reflected on the profound friendship and shared socialist ideals that bind the two countries.
\"China and Vietnam, as friendly socialist neighbors, represent a community with a shared future that carries strategic significance,\" Xi stated. He highlighted the historical bonds forged through joint struggles for national independence and liberation, noting that the sentiment of being \"comrades and brothers\" vividly portrays the close relations between the two parties and nations.
Xi recalled his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, during which both sides pledged to elevate their relationship to new heights. He underscored the mutual commitment to advancing socialism and the significant role this plays in regional and global peace, stability, development, and prosperity.
Amid unprecedented global changes, Xi stressed that continued adherence to the socialist path by China and Vietnam bears on the future of their parties and countries, as well as the global socialist cause. He expressed his willingness to work with Vietnamese leaders to seize the opportunities presented by the milestone anniversary and the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges.
