In a message exchanged on Saturday with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong, Xi emphasized pushing for new achievements in building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future that carries strategic significance.
Xi highlighted the profound friendship between China and Vietnam, noting that, as friendly socialist neighbors, both countries represent a community with a shared future. \\"So profound is the friendship between Vietnam and China because we are both comrades and brothers\,\" he stated, reflecting on the 75 years of diplomatic ties.
Since establishing diplomatic relations 75 years ago, China and Vietnam have fought side by side and supported each other in their struggles for national independence and liberation. Xi pointed out that in advancing socialism, the two nations have learned from each other and progressed hand in hand, deepening their comprehensive strategic cooperation.
Recalling his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, Xi mentioned the pledge made by both sides to work towards a China-Vietnam community with a shared future, elevating bilateral relations to a new stage. He emphasized that amidst unprecedented global changes, China and Vietnam's commitment to socialism significantly impacts not only their futures but also the global socialist cause, contributing to regional and world peace, stability, development, and prosperity.
Xi stressed the importance he places on the growth of bilateral relations and expressed his willingness to seize the opportunity of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges.
