Xi Jinping Calls for Stronger China-Vietnam Ties in 75th Anniversary Message

In a message marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and Vietnam, Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed his commitment to deepening strategic mutual trust and practical cooperation with Vietnamese leaders. Xi emphasized the importance of building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future that carries strategic significance.

Xi, who also serves as general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended his congratulations to General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong. He highlighted the historical bonds between the two socialist neighbors, noting that China and Vietnam have forged a profound friendship as \"comrades and brothers\" through their shared struggles for national independence and liberation.

\"Since the establishment of diplomatic ties 75 years ago, our two countries have fought side by side and supported each other,\" Xi said. \"China and Vietnam share the same ideals and pursue a shared future, which is the most striking feature of our relations.\"

Xi recalled his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, during which both sides pledged to work toward a China-Vietnam community with a shared future. He noted that this commitment has elevated the relationship between the two parties and countries to a new stage.

Amid unprecedented global changes, Xi underscored the significance of China and Vietnam continuing on the path of socialism. He stated that this path not only affects the future of both countries but also holds great importance for the peace, stability, development, and prosperity of the region and the world.

\"I attach great importance to the growth of our bilateral relations,\" Xi said. \"I am willing to work with Vietnamese leaders to seize the opportunity of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges. Together, we can forge ahead on the new journey toward socialist modernization, delivering more benefits to our peoples and contributing significantly to human development and progress.\"
