Xi Jinping Calls for Stronger China-Vietnam Ties and Shared Future

Chinese President Xi Jinping has expressed his readiness to work closely with Vietnamese leaders to deepen strategic mutual trust and strengthen practical cooperation between China and Vietnam. In a message exchanged on the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations, Xi emphasized the importance of building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future of strategic significance.

Xi, also the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, sent his congratulations to General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong. He highlighted that China and Vietnam, as friendly socialist neighbors, share profound bonds as \"comrades and brothers,\" having supported each other in their struggles for national independence and liberation.

The Chinese leader noted that since establishing diplomatic relations 75 years ago, both countries have collaborated closely, learning from each other in their pursuit of socialism. This cooperation has deepened their comprehensive strategic partnership and solidified their shared ideals and future, which Xi described as the most striking feature of their bilateral relations.

Reflecting on his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, Xi recalled the mutual commitment made by both sides to work towards a China-Vietnam community with a shared future, elevating the relationship between the two parties and countries to a new stage. He underscored that amid unprecedented global changes, China and Vietnam's continued adherence to the socialist path significantly impacts the future of both nations and the global socialist cause, contributing to regional and global peace, stability, development, and prosperity.

Xi expressed his intention to collaborate with Vietnamese leaders, seizing the opportunity presented by the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges. He called for a joint effort to remember their original mission and forge ahead on the journey toward socialist modernization, aiming to deliver greater benefits to their peoples and make important contributions to the revitalization of the global socialist cause and human progress.
