President Xi, who is also the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, highlighted the profound friendship between China and Vietnam, describing the two countries as \"comrades and brothers.\" He noted that since establishing diplomatic ties 75 years ago, both nations have supported each other in their struggles for national independence and liberation.
\"China and Vietnam, as friendly socialist neighbors, represent a community with a shared future that carries strategic significance,\" Xi stated. He underscored that the shared ideals and mutual learning in advancing socialism have deepened comprehensive strategic cooperation between the two parties and countries.
Reflecting on his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, Xi recalled the joint pledge to work towards a China-Vietnam community with a shared future. This commitment, he said, has elevated the relationship between the two parties and countries to a new stage.
As the world undergoes unprecedented changes, Xi stressed that China and Vietnam's continued commitment to the path of socialism is crucial not only for their own futures but also for the global socialist cause. \"Our cooperation is of great significance to the peace, stability, development, and prosperity of the region and the world at large,\" he remarked.
Looking ahead, Xi expressed his willingness to collaborate with Vietnamese leaders to seize the opportunity presented by the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges.
