Xi Jinping Calls for Stronger China-Vietnam Partnership on 75th Anniversary

Chinese President Xi Jinping has reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening ties with Vietnam, highlighting the strategic significance of building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future.

On Saturday, President Xi, who is also the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, exchanged congratulations with To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee, and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong, in celebration of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.

Xi emphasized that China and Vietnam, as friendly socialist neighbors, represent a community with a shared future carrying strategic importance. He noted that since the establishment of diplomatic ties 75 years ago, the two countries have fought side by side and supported each other in their struggles for national independence and liberation.

\"So profound is the friendship between Vietnam and China, because we are both comrades and brothers,\" Xi said, affirming that this sentiment vividly portrays the relationship between the two parties and nations.

He highlighted that in advancing socialism, both sides have learned from each other and progressed hand in hand, further deepening their comprehensive strategic cooperation. Sharing the same ideals and pursuing a shared future is the most striking feature of China-Vietnam relations, according to Xi.

Recalling his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, Xi remarked that both sides pledged to work towards building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future carrying strategic significance, elevating the bilateral relations to a new stage.

Amid unprecedented global changes, Xi stressed that China and Vietnam's continued adherence to the socialist path significantly impacts the future of both parties and countries, as well as the global socialist cause. This commitment, he added, holds great significance for peace, stability, development, and prosperity in the region and the world.

Xi expressed his willingness to collaborate with Vietnamese leaders to seize the opportunity presented by the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges. By remembering their original mission and advancing toward socialist modernization, Xi aims to deliver greater benefits to both peoples and contribute to revitalizing the global socialist cause and promoting human development and progress.
