Chinese President Xi Jinping has expressed his commitment to strengthening ties with Vietnam, emphasizing the importance of building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future of strategic significance. On Saturday, Xi exchanged congratulations with Vietnamese leaders on the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.

In his message, Xi, who is also the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, stated his readiness to work with Vietnamese leaders to deepen strategic mutual trust and enhance practical cooperation. He highlighted the profound friendship between China and Vietnam, noting that the two socialist neighbors represent a community with shared ideals and aspirations.

\"Since the establishment of diplomatic ties 75 years ago, our nations have stood side by side, supporting each other in the struggle for national independence and liberation,\" Xi remarked. He added that the phrase \"So profound is the friendship between Vietnam and China, because we are both comrades and brothers\" vividly portrays the close relations between the two parties and countries.

Reflecting on his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, Xi noted that both sides pledged to elevate their relationship to a new stage by building a community with a shared future. He emphasized that in the face of unprecedented global changes, continued adherence to the path of socialism by both countries holds significant importance for peace, stability, development, and prosperity in the region and beyond.

Xi expressed his intention to collaborate with Vietnamese leaders to seize the opportunities presented by the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges. He called for both nations to remember their original mission and advance toward socialist modernization, aiming to deliver greater benefits to their peoples and contribute to the revitalization of the global socialist cause.
