In a congratulatory exchange with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong, Xi highlighted the profound friendship between China and Vietnam. He noted that as friendly socialist neighbors, the two countries represent a community with a shared future of strategic importance.
"Since the establishment of diplomatic ties 75 years ago, our two nations have fought side by side and supported each other in the struggle for national independence and liberation," Xi stated. "So profound is the friendship between Vietnam and China, because we are both comrades and brothers."
Recalling his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, Xi emphasized the commitment of both sides to work towards a China-Vietnam community with a shared future. This pledge has elevated the relations between the two parties and countries to a new stage.
With global changes unfolding in unprecedented ways, Xi underscored that China and Vietnam's continued pursuit of socialism bears significantly on the future of both nations and the global socialist cause. He highlighted the importance of their cooperation for regional and global peace, stability, development, and prosperity.
