Xi Jinping Calls for Strengthened China-Vietnam Relations for Shared Future

Chinese President Xi Jinping has expressed his readiness to work with Vietnamese leaders to deepen strategic mutual trust and strengthen practical cooperation between the two nations. On Saturday, in honor of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties, Xi emphasized the importance of building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future that holds strategic significance.

Xi, who also serves as General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, exchanged congratulations with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong. He highlighted the profound friendship between China and Vietnam, noting that the two socialist neighbors have fought side by side and supported each other in their struggles for national independence and liberation over the past 75 years.

\"So profound is the friendship between Vietnam and China, because we are both comrades and brothers,\" Xi remarked, illustrating the close ties between the two parties and countries. He recalled his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, where both sides pledged to work toward a China-Vietnam community with a shared future, elevating bilateral relations to a new stage.

Amid unprecedented global changes, Xi stressed that China and Vietnam's steadfast commitment to the path of socialism affects not only the future of both parties and countries but also the global socialist cause. He emphasized that this commitment is significant for regional and worldwide peace, stability, development, and prosperity.

Xi reiterated his dedication to enhancing bilateral relations and expressed his willingness to collaborate with Vietnamese leaders during the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges. He called for remembering the original mission and forging ahead on the journey toward socialist modernization, aiming to deliver greater benefits to the peoples of both nations and contribute significantly to revitalizing the global socialist cause and advancing human development.
