“China and Vietnam, as friendly socialist neighbors, represent a community with a shared future that carries strategic significance,” President Xi remarked. He highlighted the profound friendship forged over decades, noting that both countries have stood side by side in their struggles for national independence and liberation. “Our friendship is so profound because we are both comrades and brothers,” he added, encapsulating the close bonds between the two nations.

Reflecting on his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, President Xi recalled the commitment made by both sides to elevate their relationship to a new stage. “In advancing socialism, we have learned from each other and forged ahead hand in hand, deepening our comprehensive strategic cooperation,” he stated.

As the world undergoes unprecedented changes, President Xi stressed the significance of China and Vietnam continuing on the path of socialism. “This has a bearing on the future of our parties and countries, as well as the global socialist cause,” he said. He underscored the role of their cooperation in contributing to regional peace, stability, development, and prosperity.

Looking ahead, President Xi expressed his willingness to work with Vietnamese leaders to seize the opportunity presented by the 75th anniversary and the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges.
