Xi Jinping Calls for Strengthened China-Vietnam Community with Shared Future
On Saturday, Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed his readiness to collaborate with Vietnamese leaders to deepen strategic mutual trust and enhance practical cooperation. Marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations, Xi emphasized the importance of building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future that holds strategic significance.
Xi, who is also the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, exchanged congratulations with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong. He highlighted the long-standing friendship between China and Vietnam, noting that the two socialist neighbors are a community with intertwined destinies.
\"Since establishing diplomatic relations 75 years ago, our countries have fought side by side and supported each other in the struggle for national independence and liberation,\" Xi remarked. \"The profound friendship between Vietnam and China, as comrades and brothers, vividly portrays the relations between our parties and nations.\"
In their pursuit of socialism, China and Vietnam have learned from each other and advanced hand in hand, deepening comprehensive strategic cooperation. Xi underscored that sharing the same ideals and pursuing a common future is the most distinctive feature of their bilateral relations.
Reflecting on his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, Xi mentioned that both sides pledged to work towards a China-Vietnam community with a shared future of strategic importance, elevating their relationship to a new stage. He stressed that amidst unprecedented global changes, continued adherence to the socialist path by both countries is crucial for their futures and for the global socialist cause.
\"Our cooperation bears significant implications for regional and global peace, stability, development, and prosperity,\" Xi stated. He added that he places great importance on the growth of China-Vietnam relations and is willing to work with Vietnamese leaders to seize the opportunity presented by the 75th anniversary and the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges.
Xi concluded by calling for both nations to keep in mind their original mission and forge ahead on the journey toward socialist modernization. \"Together, we can deliver more benefits to our peoples and contribute significantly to revitalizing the global socialist cause and advancing human development and progress,\" he said.
