Chinese President Xi Jinping has expressed his commitment to work closely with Vietnamese leaders to deepen strategic mutual trust and enhance practical cooperation between the two nations. In a message exchanged on Saturday with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong, Xi emphasized the goal of achieving new milestones in building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future of strategic significance.
Xi, who is also the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, highlighted the profound friendship between China and Vietnam, describing the two socialist neighbors as ‘comrades and brothers.’ He noted that since establishing diplomatic ties 75 years ago, both countries have supported each other in their struggles for national independence and liberation, forging a strong bond based on shared ideals and aspirations.
“China and Vietnam represent a community with a shared future that carries strategic significance,” Xi stated. “Our cooperation and mutual support have become the most vivid portrayal of the relations between our two parties and countries.”
Reflecting on his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, Xi recalled the pledge made by both sides to work towards strengthening the China-Vietnam community with a shared future, elevating bilateral relations to a new stage. He stressed that as the world undergoes unprecedented changes, the continued adherence to the path of socialism by China and Vietnam has significant implications for the future of both nations and the global socialist cause.
“Our collaboration is of great importance to the peace, stability, development, and prosperity of the region and the world at large,” Xi remarked. He expressed his readiness to use the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges as opportunities to advance socialist modernization, delivering greater benefits to the peoples of both countries.
Xi concluded by affirming his dedication to working with Vietnamese leaders to make important contributions to revitalizing the global socialist cause and promoting human development and progress.
