Chinese President Xi Jinping has expressed his commitment to deepening strategic mutual trust and practical cooperation with Vietnam. In a message exchanged on Saturday with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong, Xi emphasized the goal of building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future that carries strategic significance.
Xi noted that China and Vietnam, as friendly socialist neighbors, represent a community with a shared future. Since establishing diplomatic ties 75 years ago, the two nations have fought side by side and supported each other in their struggles for national independence and liberation.
\"So profound is the friendship between Vietnam and China, because we are both comrades and brothers,\" Xi remarked, highlighting the close relations between the two parties and countries.
In their pursuit of socialism, Xi said, China and Vietnam have learned from each other and advanced hand in hand, deepening comprehensive strategic cooperation. He underscored that sharing the same ideals and pursuing a shared future is the most striking feature of their bilateral relations.
Recalling his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, Xi stated that both sides pledged to work towards a China-Vietnam community with a shared future, elevating relations to a new stage.
\"As changes of the world, of the times and of history are unfolding in unprecedented ways, China and Vietnam continuing to follow in good faith the path of socialism has a bearing on the future of the two parties and countries as well as the future of the global socialist cause,\" Xi said. \"It is of great significance to the peace, stability, development and prosperity of the region and the world at large.\"
Xi emphasized his dedication to fostering bilateral relations and expressed willingness to collaborate with Vietnamese leaders. He proposed taking the opportunity of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges to keep the original mission in mind and forge ahead on the new journey toward socialist modernization.
This, he said, would deliver more benefits to the peoples of both countries and contribute significantly to revitalizing the global socialist cause, as well as promoting human development and progress.
The exchange between the leaders signifies a continued commitment to strengthening the longstanding friendship and cooperation between China and Vietnam, setting the tone for future collaborations.
