Xi Jinping Calls for Strengthened China-Vietnam Partnership

Chinese President Xi Jinping has expressed a strong commitment to deepen strategic mutual trust and practical cooperation with Vietnam, aiming to build a China-Vietnam community with a shared future of strategic significance.

On Saturday, Xi, who also serves as the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, exchanged congratulations with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong on the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations.

\"China and Vietnam, as friendly socialist neighbors, represent a community with a shared future that carries strategic significance,\" Xi remarked. He highlighted the profound friendship forged over 75 years, noting that the two countries have fought side by side and supported each other in their struggles for national independence and liberation.

Xi recalled his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, during which both sides pledged to work towards a China-Vietnam community with a shared future. This commitment has elevated the relationship between the two parties and countries to a new stage.

Emphasizing the importance of continued partnership, Xi stated that as the world undergoes unprecedented changes, China and Vietnam's adherence to the path of socialism bears significant implications not only for the future of both nations but also for global peace, stability, and development.

He expressed his readiness to collaborate with Vietnamese leaders during the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges. \"We should keep in mind our original mission and forge ahead on the new journey toward socialist modernization, delivering more benefits to our peoples and contributing to human development and progress,\" Xi said.

The Vietnamese leaders echoed Xi's sentiments, acknowledging the strategic significance of strengthening bilateral ties and cooperation across various sectors.
