Xi Jinping Aims for Stronger China-Vietnam Community with Shared Future

Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed his commitment on Saturday to deepen strategic mutual trust and strengthen practical cooperation with Vietnam, aiming to build a China-Vietnam community with a shared future that carries strategic significance.

Xi, who is also the general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, exchanged congratulations with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong on the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

In his message, Xi emphasized that China and Vietnam, as friendly socialist neighbors, represent a community with a shared future. He reflected on the profound friendship forged over 75 years, during which the two nations have fought side by side and supported each other in their struggles for national independence and liberation.

\"So profound is the friendship between Vietnam and China because we are both comrades and brothers,\" Xi remarked, noting that this sentiment vividly portrays the relations between the two parties and countries.

Xi highlighted that in advancing socialism, China and Vietnam have learned from each other and progressed hand in hand, deepening their comprehensive strategic cooperation. He underscored that sharing the same ideals and pursuing a shared future is the most striking feature of their bilateral relations.

Recalling his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, Xi said that both sides pledged to work towards a China-Vietnam community with a shared future that carries strategic significance, elevating relations to a new stage.

As unprecedented changes unfold in the world, Xi stressed that China and Vietnam's continued commitment to the path of socialism bears on the future of both parties and countries, as well as the global socialist cause. He emphasized its great significance for regional and global peace, stability, development, and prosperity.

Xi stated that he attaches great importance to the growth of bilateral relations and is willing to work with Vietnamese leaders to seize the opportunity of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges. He called for keeping in mind their original mission and forging ahead on the new journey toward socialist modernization, to deliver more benefits to both peoples and contribute to revitalizing the global socialist cause and human progress.
