President Xi Jinping Calls for Deeper China-Vietnam Ties Towards a Shared Future

In a message marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and Vietnam, Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed readiness to work with Vietnamese leaders to deepen strategic mutual trust and strengthen practical cooperation. He emphasized pushing for new achievements in building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future that holds strategic significance.

President Xi, who is also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, exchanged congratulations with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong on this milestone occasion.

\"China and Vietnam, as friendly socialist neighbors, represent a community with a shared future that carries strategic significance,\" Xi stated. He reflected on the history of the two nations, highlighting that since establishing diplomatic relations 75 years ago, they have \"fought side by side and supported each other\" in their struggles for national independence and liberation. Xi added that the phrase \"so profound is the friendship between Vietnam and China, because we are both comrades and brothers\" vividly portrays the relations between the two parties and countries.

Recalling his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, President Xi said that the two sides pledged to work toward a China-Vietnam community with a shared future carrying strategic significance, elevating the relations between the two parties and countries to a new stage.

Amid unprecedented global changes, Xi stressed that China and Vietnam's continued faithful pursuit of socialism bears on the future of both parties and countries, as well as the global socialist cause.
