Chinese Premier Li Qiang has called for unwavering efforts to enhance government integrity and intensify the fight against corruption, emphasizing its crucial role in China\u0027s high-quality development and modernization drive.
Speaking at a State Council meeting on clean governance on Friday, Li highlighted the challenging and complex nature of the current anti-corruption landscape. He urged all levels of government to implement the strategic plans of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee to exercise full and rigorous Party self-governance.
“The battle against corruption must continue with unwavering perseverance,” Li stressed. He called for strict adherence to financial discipline and effective management of public funds. Li demanded decisive actions to prevent corruption and to severely punish corrupt practices, particularly in key sectors such as finance, state-owned assets, state-owned enterprises, and construction project bidding processes.
Li, who is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, emphasized the responsibility of leading Party members\u0027 groups at all levels and departments. He urged them to promote clean governance through deepening reforms and diligently performing their duties.
“The leading Party members\u0027 groups must shoulder the responsibility of exercising full and rigorous Party self-governance,” Li asserted.
The meeting was presided over by Ding Xuexiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice premier. Li Xi, also a member of the Standing Committee and secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, attended the meeting.
