The 31st Zigong International Dinosaur Lantern Festival is set to dazzle visitors as it opens on Friday at the Zigong China Colorful Lantern World. Known for its unique charm, the festival invites guests to immerse themselves in a spectacular array of lights and cultural experiences.
This year’s festival features seven specially designed themed areas. In total, there are 12 groups of extra-large lanterns, 7 groups of large lanterns, and over 200 groups of small and medium-sized lanterns, all complementing each other in a harmonious display.
The lantern show seamlessly blends traditional intangible cultural heritage techniques with modern technology. Visitors can witness art forms such as porcelain craftsmanship, Sichuan opera, and paper cutting integrated into the lantern designs. Notably, the festival introduces an AI-driven mechanical dinosaur lantern, showcasing the innovative use of artificial intelligence.
Adding to the interactive experience, installations of popular Chinese anime and mobile game intellectual properties have been set up throughout the festival grounds.
