In a gesture highlighting the strengthening ties between China and Lebanon, Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a heartfelt congratulatory message to Joseph Aoun on Tuesday, marking his assumption of the presidency of Lebanon.
President Xi emphasized the longstanding traditional friendship between the two nations, noting that bilateral relations have maintained a positive momentum in recent years. “Political mutual trust has been enhanced, and the friendship between our peoples has deepened,” Xi stated.
Expressing his commitment to the development of China-Lebanon relations, Xi affirmed his readiness to work closely with President Aoun. “I attach great importance to our ties and look forward to promoting friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation across various fields to better benefit our peoples,” he conveyed.
Xi also reiterated China’s unwavering support for Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. “China will, as always, firmly support Lebanon and continue to provide assistance within its capacity for your country’s economic development and the improvement of people’s livelihoods,” he assured.
The congratulatory message underscores China’s growing engagement in the Middle East and its interest in fostering stronger partnerships within the region.
