On Tuesday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called for elevating the China-Vietnam community with a shared future to a new milestone. Meeting with Vietnamese Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu in Beijing, Wang emphasized the strategic significance of deepening ties between the two neighboring countries.
“This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam,” Wang noted. “China is ready to work with Vietnam to maintain high-level exchanges, deepen strategic mutual trust, and expand mutually beneficial cooperation to serve our modernization drives.”
Nguyen Minh Vu, in Beijing for the first strategic consultation between the Chinese and Vietnamese foreign ministries, expressed Vietnam’s commitment to strengthening the relationship. “Vietnam has always prioritized its relationship with China,” he affirmed. “We pledge to enhance high-level exchanges and fully utilize the dialogue mechanisms between our foreign ministries and other departments.”
He also emphasized Vietnam’s dedication to achieving tangible progress in building the Vietnam-China community with a shared future.
The meeting underscores the mutual desire to foster closer cooperation and friendship, enhancing stability and prosperity in the region.
