Zhejiang Golden Bulls Avenge Previous Loss with 106-92 Victory Over Beijing Ducks

The Zhejiang Golden Bulls secured a commanding 106-92 victory over the Beijing Ducks on Saturday in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, avenging their previous defeat and clinching their second consecutive win in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA).

Despite both teams grappling with injuries and missing key players\u2014Zhou Qi and Chen Ying-Chun for Beijing, Wu Qian and Cheng Shuaipeng for Zhejiang\u2014the game unfolded with high intensity and competitive spirit.

Zhejiang’s guard Gabe York was unstoppable from the outset, orchestrating an early lead with teammates Damian Jones and Lu Wenbo. Their combined efforts propelled the Golden Bulls to a 32-16 advantage with under two minutes remaining in the first quarter. However, Beijing’s Fan Ziming and Eugene German responded swiftly, narrowing the gap to 32-23.

The Golden Bulls maintained a near 10-point lead into the second quarter until a scoring drought allowed the Ducks to launch a 10-0 run, leveling the score at 44-44. Beijing briefly seized the lead through contributions from Richard Solomon and Nuni Omot, but a 6-0 run led by Wang Yibo and York restored Zhejiang’s advantage at 55-50 by halftime.

In the second half, Zhejiang’s offense flourished as more players contributed, while Beijing began to show signs of fatigue. The Golden Bulls outscored the Ducks 29-22 in the third quarter, extending their lead to 84-71. Despite efforts from Zhai Xiaochuan and Zhang Cairen, who each hit three-pointers to keep Beijing in contention, Zhejiang’s York, Lu, and Wang orchestrated a decisive 10-0 run, sealing the victory and elevating the team to fifth place in the standings.

“We played with great energy and teamwork tonight,” Zhejiang’s Gabe York commented after the game. “Everyone stepped up, and it was a collective effort that got us the win.”

This victory not only served as payback for last week’s loss but also reinforced Zhejiang’s position as a strong contender in the CBA this season.
