In the men’s singles category, top seed and reigning champion Jannik Sinner of Italy shares his section with local favorite and No. 8 seed Alex de Minaur. Fourth-seeded American Taylor Fritz may encounter Russia’s fifth seed and three-time Australian Open runner-up Daniil Medvedev.

Serbian superstar and No. 7 seed Novak Djokovic could face his first major challenge en route to a potential 25th Grand Slam title in the quarterfinals against Spain’s No. 3 seed Carlos Alcaraz. Second seed Alexander Zverev of Germany might be a potential quarterfinal opponent for Norway’s No. 6 seed Casper Ruud.

Three men from the Chinese mainland will participate in the men’s singles event. Zhang Zhizhen is set to face Denmark’s No. 13 seed Holger Rune. Shang Juncheng will play against Spain’s Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. Bu Yunchaokete awaits the end of the qualifying rounds to learn his first-round opponent.
