Chinese President Xi Jinping’s special envoy, Wang Dongming, is set to attend the inauguration ceremony of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro in Caracas on January 10. This announcement was made by Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun on Thursday.
Wang Dongming, who serves as the vice chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, will represent China at the event upon the invitation of the Venezuelan government. His attendance highlights the ongoing cooperation and strong diplomatic relations between China and Venezuela.
"At the invitation of the government of Venezuela, Wang Dongming will travel to Caracas as President Xi Jinping’s special envoy," Guo Jiakun stated during the press briefing.
The inauguration marks the beginning of President Maduro’s new term, and China’s participation underscores the importance both nations place on their bilateral relationship.
