The leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC) convened on Thursday to hear a series of important work reports from leading Party members’ groups across key state institutions. These institutions include the top legislature, central government, top political advisory body, the highest court, and the top procuratorate.
The meeting was presided over by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, who also delivered an address. The Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee listened attentively to the reports, emphasizing the significance of upholding the Party’s overall leadership as the country’s greatest political advantage.
The meeting underscored that the centralized and unified leadership of the CPC Central Committee is the fundamental reason behind China’s continuous victories and achievements. It was noted that last year, the leading Party members’ groups of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, the State Council, the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, the Supreme People’s Court, and the Supreme People’s Procuratorate resolutely upheld the authority of the CPC Central Committee. Their efforts led to significant advancements across various fields.
The Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee also presented its work report at the meeting. The leadership commended the Secretariat for its diligent work over the past year.
Looking ahead to 2025, which marks a crucial year in China’s comprehensive drive to deepen reforms, the meeting urged the leading Party members’ groups to ensure the effective implementation of the CPC Central Committee’s decisions and plans. Emphasis was placed on the need for dedication and high standards in completing all tasks.
Furthermore, the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee was encouraged to prioritize key initiatives. These include implementing intra-Party regulations and addressing unnecessary formalities to reduce burdens at the primary level. Such measures are expected to enhance efficiency and support the ongoing reform efforts.
