Xi Jinping’s Special Envoy to Attend Ghana’s Presidential Inauguration

Chinese President Xi Jinping’s special envoy will attend the inauguration of John Dramani Mahama as President of Ghana, the Chinese Foreign Ministry announced on Monday. The event is scheduled to take place on January 7 in Accra, the capital city of the Western African country.

The envoy, Hao Mingjin, who serves as vice chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, will represent China at the ceremony. His presence signifies China’s commitment to strengthening its diplomatic ties with Ghana and promoting cooperation across various sectors.

John Dramani Mahama was declared the winner of the presidential election by the Electoral Commission of Ghana on December 9, 2024. His victory marks a new chapter in Ghana’s political landscape, and the international community is paying close attention to the country’s democratic progress.
